NHS of Southwest Wisconsin and Team Big Top Chautauqua Reinvest in Our Communities!

Neighborhood Housing Services of Southwest Wisconsin (NHSSW) distributed net proceeds to community partners in a photo awards ceremony on Tuesday, July 5 in the Community Room of the Park Hotel Senior Center Apartments in the amount of $7,868.75 from the Big Top Chautauqua (BTC) VIII collaborative community building annual fundraiser.  Representatives of the Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination (GRACE) partnership and the Richland County Veterans Honor Roll, partners in organizing and promoting the Big Top Chautauqua performance earlier in 2016, each received checks in the amount of $1,573.75, NHS of Southwest Wisconsin received $4,721.25 in net proceeds.

Sherry Klatt, NHS of Southwest Wisconsin Board Member and Fundraising Committee Chair; Judy Dutton and Leonard Frye; Fundraising committee members representing the Richland County Veterans Honor Roll; Sue Klingaman, Fundraising committee member representing GRACE and Bill Reinke from NHS Southwest Wisconsin were very excited to bring BTC’s Big Top Opry 1 to Richland Center.

Each year we are making more friends and building our partnerships and community from the energy of the people of southwest Wisconsin who love the Big Top performances.  Now in our eighth year and over $85,000 reinvested in the community in our first seven years, we have become much like the ‘Big Top of Southern Wisconsin’ because of the exceptional fan interest and the hard teamwork of our partners and great generosity of our sponsors.  Together we are ‘neighbors helping neighbors’ raising critical funding, building community and providing a regional arts and educational event of the highest quality anywhere.

According to Phil Anich, Manager and Lead Vocalist of the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua Orchestra. “We love coming to Richland Center, you folks are very organized, friendly and always have great shows with engaged audiences.  You are leaders with a purpose doing the best of any of our many Wisconsin Tour locations!”

We thank all our generous sponsors for making this special family friendly fun event sing!

The NHS of Southwest Wisconsin, GRACE and Richland County Veterans Honor Roll partners all agreed quickly to proceed with Big Top Chautauqua IX in early 2017.  For more information on great shows this summer at the “Big Tent” near Bayfield please see the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua’s great website at  www.bigtop.org

A Huge Thank you to our partners and sponsors who help bring these fantastic performers  from the northern Wisconsin to Richland Center.
