Green Initiative:
Neighborhood Housing Services of Southwest Wisconsin is committed to incorporating healthy and sustainable principles into every facet of their operations and throughout their lines of Business. NHS of Southwest Wisconsin has administered and successfully executed several NW green grants through our CBO and Multi-Family Lines of Business and are currently administering a CBO Green Grant designed to explore feasibility and make ready for the NeighborWorks Green Organization designation. The NHS of Southwest Wisconsin Board of Directors authorized a program in 2008 for practical energy conservation and sustainable development practices across several Lines of Business and also featured this organizational commitment as a community statement of values and public trust policy at our 25th Anniversary dedication in 2008. The NHSRC New Home Construction Program, which NW rates as a “best practice” achieved green build and Energy Star certifications prior to this formal initiative and further specified strategic action was launched at this point to build upon our growing education and training by NeighborWorks America and other intermediaries to “green” multi-family and other lines of business.
2014: NHSSW receives the Green Organization Designation from NeighborWorks America!
